Cycling Ireland are inviting applications for the 2023 Coach Developer programme.
Coach Developers will engage in a range of duties and responsibilities including delivering Cycling Ireland’s Coaching and Instructor pathway suite of courses; Foundation, Level 1, Level 2, TCL, MBL, Nightriding, Tandem, Handcycle, Balance Bike, Sprocket Rocket, Rider Leader and CPD courses.
Other duties also include mentoring, instructor and coach support, coach development, continuous professional development (CPD), and administration.
Applicants are required to hold a full Cycling Ireland membership while a Cycling Ireland Level 2 Coaching Course is preferred, applicants must hold the qualification of the course delivering as a Coach Developer (as a minimum).
The Sport Ireland Coach Developer Training must be undertaken in order for tutors to deliver Cycling Ireland's courses, applicants who have not undertaken this training can apply to undertake the training.
Cycling Ireland also offers an online course in 2023 that enables a Coach Developer to deliver courses that do not sit on the QQI framework e.g. Sprocket Rocket, Ride Leader, Tandem, Handcycle and CPD modules.
Cycling Ireland Coach Education Manager Tom Causer said:
"An increase in coach developers that are appropriately trained are crucial to ensuring our coaches, instructors and leaders have the knowledge and skills to deliver to riders within CI’s participation programmes, community settings and clubs. "
"Essentially more trained coach developers means more trained coaches/instructors/leaders, which will result in participation growth. We are pleased open applications for 2023 from those who can fulfil the role, meet the requirements and have a passion for helping others get better.”
Applicants can send a covering letter detailing how your experience, qualifications, knowledge and skills meet the personal specification. Also, why you would like to be a Coach Developer and which courses you are interested in delivering.
Please send by email to coaching@cyclingireland.ie . Closing date for applications is the 14th of November 2022. Candidates will then be shortlisted and informal interviews are expected to take place via Teams.
