Cycling Munster implement additional €5 Membership levy
A membership levy motion proposed at the Cycling Munster AGM on November 1st was passed and will see an additional €5 charge applied to adult Leisure and Competitive members within the province. This brings the Cycling Munster levy from €5 to €10 on Leisure Membership and will see a €5 levy applied to Limited and Full Competition Memberships.
The revenue derived from the Cycling Munster levy is utilised directly by the province and not by Cycling Ireland.
The Cycling Munster Committee outlined proposed uses for the additional revenue including;
“(To) further develop all cycling disciplines, such as Ras Mumhan and other stage races, a youth league, a UCI Cyclo Cross event and League, a leisure league which is still under development, Ladies Cycling, BMX and MTB events.”
“We have and we will continue to financially support a Cyclo Cross specific circuit, an outdoor track and cycling equipment where needed. We have also subsidised Cycling Munster kit and over the last few years commissioned a proper Cycling Munster medal and make these available to the Munster championships at the various disciplines with Cycling Munster paying these costs. We also need to restock on some of our safety led costs where we have radios, lights and signage available to promoters within the province.”
