Cycling Community Devastated by the Loss of Gabriele Glodenyte
UCD Cycling Club and Cycling Ireland is devastated to hear of the death of Gabriele Glodenyte in a crash with a driver in a car while training last Saturday.
A member of UCD Cycling Club, Gabrielle, affectionately known as Gabby to friends, burst onto the scene in 2020, having taken up the sport during Covid. Gabby’s talent propelled her quickly through the ranks, winning the Women’s Intermediate League and the Road National Series in 2022.
Gabby was a warm, friendly presence at the races, and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She was a ray of sunshine at every event, always smiling, an honest and open person who loved her bike and her racing.
