Expression of Interest 2023 European Games Longlist
Cycling Ireland are inviting expressions of interest for athletes to be included in a longlist for selection at the 2023 European Games this summer.
The 2023 European Games is a multi-sport event that takes place every four years and is hosted by the International Olympic Committee.
The 2023 Games take place in Krakow, Poland, from June 21st to July 2nd, and cycling will be represented by the BMX Freestyle Park and Mountain-Bike Cross Country events.
Despite being a separate event to the European Championships in normal circumstances, it will serve as the 2023 UEC European Championships in both events.
Cycling Ireland will nominate a long list of athletes for selection at the games, however the Olympic Federation of Ireland are responsible for selection of the final team.
More information on the OFI’s 2023 European Games selection policy is available here.
Interested riders are invited to review the OFI nomination criteria for their event, and if they believe they have either met the nomination criteria, or will be able to before the point of nomination, can submit their expression of interest to be included in the Cycling Ireland longlist.
This cohort is screened and communicated to the OFI to assist in logistical preparations before the final nominations and selection takes place later in the year.
Interested athletes are reminded this is for elite male and females only, and strictly applies to those that meet the eligibility criteria detailed in the nomination policy and have, or expect to meet, the nomination criteria within the given timeline.
Riders can send their applications to HPAdmin@cyclingireland.ie. The closing date for expressions of interest for consideration for the Cycling Ireland longlist is February 28th.
