BMX National Series Concludes After 10 Rounds

The Cycling Ireland BMX National Series concluded on Sunday 2nd October, with Courtown BMX Club hosting the tenth and final round of the season.
The overall series winners were officially confirmed after an exciting day of racing in Co. Wexford.
There were no Superclass competitors in action, with the overall Superclass series win going to Charlie Jackson of Ratoath BMX Club.
In an incredibly close Male 15-29 series final round, Josh Whitley-Halvey and Lennon Neville pedalled the entire final straight with little between the two riders.
Whitley-Halvey pipped his competitor with a time of 35.938 to Neville’s 36.083 as Adam Foran finished in third with a 38.624.
The Male Masters 30+ saw tight racing in the Motos with Eamonn Wyer emerging as the eventual winner.
Steven Bell was second and Renars Storkis third after losing some ground with a 6th place in Moto 2.
The Female Masters 30+ race was won by Noelle Noonan in 46.553, with Lee-Anne McClintock in second and Michelle McGinty in third.
There was plenty of youth action as the Under-6 Mixed race saw Darcy-Jo Birdwhistle take the win.
It was followed by some breath-taking racing in the Male 7-8 category as Finn Noud took victory in the final with a time of 43.168 from Cooper Kehoe in second at 43.198. Carter Madine was third in 47.942.

The Male 9-10 class saw Lukas Kennedy as the standout winner with a time of 40.710, followed by Joe Jordan in 42.750 and Marshall Bittle in 43.067.
There was more exciting racing in the Male 11-12 final as Freddie James Simmons took victory with a time of 40.365, as Kurts Sorkis pushed Simmons right to the end with a time of 40.801. Szymon Przeczek finished third-placed in 41.242.
The Male 13-14 saw Mason Lang put in the quickest time of the day for any rider in Round Ten, the local rider stormed the circuit in 35.122 to take the win. Evan Bartley took second in 38.124 and Donncha O’Hagan third with a time of 39.024.
In the Female races, Samia Hughes was the clear winner in the 7-10 age group, winning in 45.409 from Abigail Foran in second and Lilly Walker in third.
In the 11-14 category Niamh O’Rourke also won in style with a time of 43.916. Lucy McClintock raced to second place and Emma Noonan third.
