€400,000 Raised For Charity Through Cycling Ireland Event System
The Irish Cycling community raised €400,000 in 2022 through a new fundraising platform on Cycling Ireland's bespoke event entry system. The positive impacts of cycling extend far beyond health, fitness and the environment as significant sums of money donated by the cycling community will benefit society's neediest and most vulnerable.
Cycling Ireland would like to thank event organisers and participants for helping to raise €400,000 for charities across 2022 through the platform.
The Cycling Ireland event platform, powered by Official Event Registration and Membership System Partner Eventmaster, allows participants who sign up for a cycling event through the event entry system and easily donate or fundraise for over 200 charities already on board.
Event organisers can also avail of the platform to fundraise for a particular charity, group of charities or all charities. New charities can be added to the platform on request. The platform has no additional cost to the charity partners, and they receive the funds in real time as donations are made.
With the fundraising platform now available to all Cycling Ireland event promotors the figure of €400,000 may well be exceeded in 2023.
The platform also offers an opportunity for organisers to promote their events as well as increase participation and media coverage through charity partnerships.
Cycling Ireland Interim Operations Manager said;
"Almost 1,000 events are available through the Cycling Ireland calendar and cover the full spectrum of cycling disciplines. It is brilliant to see the new fundraising platform being utilised by participants and promoters and an incredible €400,000 raised via the platform in 2022. The positive social benefits of cycling are wide ranging and should be recognised and celebrated. Along with societal benefits from considerable charitable donations from the cycling community, cycling will play a key role in achieving Climate Action Plan targets and improving the health and wellbeing of the nation."
